How to get Cassius Morten’s Unyielding Hero Armor in Crimson Desert: Overview and Stats

This guide will show you what the Unyielding Hero set looks like, what unique benefits it provides, and how to get it in Crimson Desert!

Appearance

The Unyielding Hero set is obtainable by all players in Crimson Desert and features the Church of Solumen’s insignia on spike-laden plate covered in torn and tattered fabric (probably from being ripped by the spikes).

This set is worn by Cassius Morten, the boss at the end of Chapter VI: Cracks in the Shield, and Awakened Bastier, the boss at the end of Chapter VIII: Blood Coronation.

It was not obtainable by players until Patch 1.13, and it does not have Cassius’ signature abyssal tendrils sprouting from the pauldrons nor Bastier’s abyssal sword arm.

Stats

The core Unyielding Hero set consists of 8 fully upgradeable pieces and is wearable by Kliff and Oonka.

As Plate Armor, it features maximum Defense and raw, unarmed Attack Power, though the Defense on the head and chest are slightly lower and the standard values for Plate. The Cloak offers Fire Resistance Lv 7, enabling you to reach Tier II Flame Resistance with a Flameward III and the helm offers Daze Immunity.

Acquisition

You can obtain the Unyielding Hero’s set mostly from completing specific Challenges unlocked by acquiring the associated Sealed Abyss Artifact. If you completed the Challenge prior to Patch 1.13, you should automatically receive it upon loading the save.

Cassius Morten’s Helmet Location

You can purchase the Unyielding Hero’s Plate Helm from the Back Alley Shop in Thalwynd (Calphade). You may need to reach 100 Trust and/or defeat Cassius Morten before you can buy it.

Cassius Morten’s Chestpiece and Shield Location

You receive the both the Unyielding Hero’s Plate Armor and Shield of Betrayal for defeating Cassius Morten in Calphade Castle at the end of Chapter VI: Cracks in the Shield.

Cassius Morten’s Cloak Location

You receive the Unyielding Hero’s Plate Cloak for completing the Hunting Challenge called “Hunter’s Discipline”, which you can unlock by picking up the Sealed Abyss Artifact at the fork in the road connecting the city of Tomasso to the Great Gate of Urdavah in the Tashkalp region of the Crimson Desert.

Cassius Morten’s Gloves Location

You receive the Unyielding Hero’s Plate Gloves for completing the Battle Challenge called “Into the Barrage”, which you can unlock by picking up the Sealed Abyss Artifact at the fork in the road along the east bank of the Deepfog Basin in northern Hernand.

Cassius Morten’s Boots Location

You receive the Unyielding Hero’s Plate Boots for completing the Above the Law Challenge called “The Vanished Wagon”, which you unlock by picking up the Sealed Abyss Artifact along the road between Stormtallon Ridge and Calphade Castle in Hernand.

Cassius Morten’s Mace Location

You can steal the Mace of Betrayal from the tower in the center of Calphade Castle in northern Hernand.

It’s the tower with the open windows parallel to the throne room along the wall dividing the inner and outer courtyards.

Traitor’s Spear Location

According to the lore text on the weapon, the Traitor’s Spear was Cassius Morten’s before discarding it, so you’ll find it in a secret cellar in Calphade.

Once you’ve made it inside, you’ll need to defeat the Abyssal enemies and light the torches beside the gate to reach the weapon.

The entrance to the cellar is a trapdoor on the ground beneath some scaffolding between the Calphade Northern Depot and Calphade Logging Camp in Hernand.

Cassius Morten’s Accessories Location

Given that the Unyielding Hero’s Plate Armor is emblazoned with crest of the Church of Solumen and Cassius Morten had ties to Bastier and Demeniss, so it’s most fitting to use the Demeniss Cathedral Ring and Necklace, both of which you can purchase from the Contribution Office at the Cathedral in the Demenissian capital.

Bleed Shotgun Location

Cassius Morten did not wield a ranged weapon. However, the Bleed Shotgun was commissioned by Walter Lanford, the adopted son of Stefan Lanford and leader of the Bleed Bandits. I think it’s fitting that Cassius Morten would wield such a weapon, and it matches the set pretty perfectly.

You can take the Bleed Shotgun resting on the ground behind a map at the back of Fort Warspike in west central Hernand.
