How to get the Golden Greed Plate Armor in Crimson Desert: Overview and Stats

Endonae by Endonae|

This guide will show you what the Golden Greed set looks like, what unique benefits it provides, and how to get it in Crimson Desert!

Appearance

The Golden Greed Plate set is obtainable by all players in Crimson Desert and features, yep, you guessed it, a greedy amount of gold plate draped in gold fabric. The helmet is pretty distinct with a giant plume.

The Golden Greed Plate set is worn by Merrick, the Knight of Fortune and leader of the Twilight Messengers.

Stats

The Golden Greed Plate set consists of 12 fully upgradeable pieces and is wearable solely by Kliff.

As Plate Armor, it features maximum Defense raw unarmed Attack Power but no other bells and whistles besides the Cloak providing a foundation for Tier I Flame Resistance and Daze Immunity from the helm.

Despite Merrick, the Knight of Fortune, being the leader of the Twilight Messengers, the Golden Greed Plate set does not count as a disguise for said faction.

Acquisition

You can obtain the Golden Greed Plate set from separate locations in the jungle that separates Delesyia from the Crimson Desert.

Merrick’s Gold Helmet Location

You can loot the Golden Greed Plate Helm from a chest locked behind a grate at the Sanctum of Renunciation along the Red River in the jungle between Delesyia and the Crimson Desert. To open the grate, light both torches.

Merrick’s Gold Chestpiece Location

You can loot the Golden Greed Plate Armor from a chest in a secret room at Bursada Castle Ruins in the jungle dividing the Crimson Desert from Delesyia.

The entrance is on the east side of the ruins by the stairs, away from the fork in the river.

Use Force Current (Force Palm with Axiom Force) on the square while standing in front of it to move with the rotating platform.

Merrick’s Gold Cloak Location

You can loot the Golden Greed Plate Cloak from a chest in Venomblade Grotto, the northeasternmost waterfall cave on the Red River at the edge of the jungle separating Delesyia from the Crimson Desert.

Contrary to its name, you will not find any venom or blades in this grotto.

Merrick’s Gold Gloves Location

You can loot the Golden Greed Plate Gloves from a chest in the Gale of Judgment Cave, a waterfall cave behind a train bridge along the Denn River in Delesyia.

Merrick’s Gold Boots Location

You can loot the Golden Greed Plate Boots from Arehaza Cave, a small spot blocked by Focused Force Palm-able Bismuth along the Red River north of Redtree Forest in the jungle dividing Delesyia from the Crimson Desert.

There is another cave behind the nearby waterfall called the Sacred Beast’s Cave, but that’s a different place with different loot.

Merrick’s Gold Sword Location

You receive the Sword of Greed for defeating Merrick, the Knight of Fortune, at the Crimson Mountains Fortress in Tashkalp, east of Tomasso in the Crimson Desert.

The Sword of Greed comes socketed with Order from Above, a unique Abyss Gear.

Merrick’s Gold Shield Location

You can loot Golden Shield from a chest in Silentwater Grotto, a waterfall cave along the Denn River near Gearmelt Confectionary in Delesyia.

Merrick’s Gold Bow Location

Merrick, the Knight of Fortune, does not wield a bow, but many in his organization wield the Twilight Messengers’ Bow

Assuming you don’t get it to drop someone at his Crimson Mountains Fortress, you can learn to craft the Twilight Messengers’ Bow with Ranged Weapons of the World – Bows, Vol. III, which you can steal from a bookshelf in Demeniss Castle.

Golden Greed Accessories Locations

Bosses don’t wear Accessories, but there is a series that matches the Knight of Fortune’s armor set quite well.

You can learn the recipes to craft the Finely Crafted Gold Necklace, Finely Crafted Gold Ring, and Engraved Gold Earring from Accessories of the World, Vol. III.

You can steal Accessories of the World, Vol. III, from the top floor of the tower at Tariv in the northwestern part of Demeniss.

Golden Greed Additions and Alternatives Locations

If you’re interested in either the Combat God’s Plate Gloves or Ator’s Orb, here’s where you can find them. We also address the distinction between the different “of Greed” weapons in the game.

Combat God’s Plate Gloves Location

The Combat God’s Plate Gloves are gold plate and match the rest of the set but offer a bonus effect that isn’t an Abyss Gear that makes them the best gloves in the game.

If you’re interested in the Golden Greed Plate set, you’ll almost certainly like those gloves.

You receive the Combat God’s Plate Gloves for completing the quest Emperor of the Bonepit by winning 4 matches in a row at the fighting ring in Tomasso, the city in Tashkalp on the southern edge of the Crimson Desert.

Ator’s Orb Abyss Gear

Ator’s Orb is a powerful Abyss Gear that summons golden orbs to shoot lasers at your enemies whenever you use your Heavy Attack. It matches the set so perfectly that we had to mention it.

Ator’s Orb is socketed into Darkbringer, one of the rewards you get for defeating Ator, Archon of Antumbra, at the Cloister of Ruination in northwestern Pailune.

Regarding Other “of Greed” Weapons

There also exists a Lightningblade of Greed and Double-Headed Axe of Greed, but these are associated with a completely different individual named Sizlek, the Insatiable.

Sizlek does not seem to be affiliated with the Twilight Messengers and leads his own organization in Hernand called the Fundamentalist Goblins.

Both weapons still look good with the set, but they’re One-Handed Weapons, so you’d need to swap out the Sword of Greed to use one of them instead.
