Learn how to find and defeat Titan in Crimson Desert. The Master of Thunder was awoken by the Jackals and he’s none to pleased. This guide will teach you how to reach him and best him in combat.
How to reach Titan
Titan, the Master of Thunder, can be found at Windsong Peaks in northeast Pailune. However, you’ll be unable to reach the area until you meet the prerequisites.
You’ll need to unlock the Stjar Clan faction quests in Pailune and complete the quest Ancient Barrier to fight Titan. You’ll unlock the Stjar Clan quests by completing quests for the Pailune Militia, Skoghorn Tribe, and Longleaf Tribe.
Any attempt to reach this area prematurely will result in you likely getting shocked by lightning on the trip up, only to black out and find yourself at the start of the trail.

Quest Structure and Rewards
The Titan boss is part of the Stjar Clan Faction Quest chain. This chain becomes accessible after completing Chapter VII: Homecoming.
- Faction Quest: Fallen God
- Rewards:
– Lightning Bolt Plate Armor
– Reckoning
– Abyss Artifact
– Trace of the Thunder God
Gear Recommendations
If you want to collect Abyss Gears for your current gear, the Blackwing Leather Gloves and Hungering Fang Leather Armor have a Shockward I gear installed.
You can also get a Shockward III gear from Ether Fragment and a Shockward II gear from Origin of Thoughts. If you have the ability, crafting and combining Shockward gears is a good idea.
Keep in mind that it’s better to have one Shockward III and two Shockward II gears. If resources are limited, a single III and two II Shockwards will give 7 lightning resistance. If you combined the II’s, you’d only get 6 lightning resistance from a pair of Shockward III’s.
Get Ice Resistance level 5 as it can get cold up the mountain, meaning you’ll drain more stamina and regenerate it slowly. You can get a Frostward II gear from Passage of Malice, and a Frostward III gear from Desert Fragment.
Recommended Gear:
- A Large Shield with a Fortitude III Abyss Gear
- Lightning Resistant Armor
(Leather armor such as Blackwing Leather Armor and Hungering Fang Armor) - Shockward Abyss Gears
- Frostward Abyss Gears
- Stamina filling drinks
Recommended Abilities:
- Force Palm Level 3
- Frost Mantle
- Aerial Roll
- Focused Aerial Roll
- Aerial Maneuver
Fallen God: Boss Fight Strategy
Make sure you’ve got your Lightning Resistant gear and large shield equipped, because Titan is a painful boss to deal with. He speaks an unknown language, so turn on subtitles before the fight to see what he’s saying.
I recommend a Sword and Large Shield if you’re using leather armor. If you can make Shockward Abyss Gears, you can likely get away using another weapon by filling plate armor with those gears. The Longsword will deal good damage but you’ll want good plate armor to survive.
The Spear isn’t that great of a weapon here with how much Titan jumps around. Trying to use Counter Stance against his attacks will drain a massive amount of your stamina, making it unreliable in this fight.
Frost Mantle is a great ability to use for defending yourself against sudden or powerful attacks if you’re not using a shield for this fight.
Phase One
Titan will have a blue health bar for the first phase of this fight. He also has no yellow bar, meaning you can’t stun him by attacking him or using Force Palm. It’s extremely difficult to parry his attacks and even if you do, it won’t interrupt him. Focus on blocking or dodging instead.
The first phase of the fight is simple enough, you just need to be careful of his attacks as most of them radiate lightning. Keep your shield up and use basic attacks while defending yourself during his attack animations. Use Forward Slash at the end of and between his attacks for more damage.
Watch out for circles made of sparks as lightning will strike there soon. Keep your shield up and hit him when you can and block his kicks and jump attacks.

When Titan holds his arms out and the area goes dim, keep your shield up until it’s bright again. He’s going to summon a lot of lightning around him, so keep the shield up and walk around to avoid lightning. Don’t run to save your stamina for blocking the lightning strikes.

Phase 2
Phase two is pretty much the same as the first phase, but Titan becomes far more aggressive and attacks more quickly. One noticeable change is his dim attack.
For his Phase 2 dim attack, he’ll float into the air and lightning bolts will follow you. Keep moving with your shield up and he’ll launch a line of lightning towards you when he lands on the ground.

Phase 3
For the third and final phase, Titan will become gigantic. You may notice he has a Yellow Bar in this phase, meaning you can Force Palm his hand to fill it up and stun him.
Be prepared to move when Titan floats and is holding his arm back, he’s going to launch a volley of spears at you. Block them and move away from their AoE damage immediately.

Stay close to the edge of the cliff as this area is safer. Towards the back are spikes that regenerate, making it dangerous to keep your back to. Staying near the cliff means you can block damage from his spear swing more easily.

When Titan slams his forearm on the ground, he’ll create a massive AoE beyond his arm. Avoid this by staying near the edge of the cliff and to the left with your shield up. This will let you avoid the AoE and block any stray lightning.

His hand is vulnerable after he punches or slams the ground. While you can whittle away at his health by attacking his hand, this is boring. There’s a fun way to defeat Titan where you can defeat him with one strike!
When his forearm is on the ground, climb up his arm guard and cling onto the area where the braided pattern is. As he lifts his arm, he’ll try to fling you off. Hold Resist when he tries and stand up when he calms down.

Avoid the red circle that appears as he’s going to strike here with his other hand. When his other hand lands, climb up his other arm guard. If you fall off, start gliding and use Axiom Force’s Aerial Maneuver to get back onto him. Drink something to restore your stamina if you need to, Honey Tea is a good option.

Climb up his left arm and avoid the spikes on his shoulder. Jump and glide towards his back and use the Axiom Force to climb up. At the top of his back is a white circle, use Focused Force Palm to target the orb inside him and he’ll go down in one hit.

Rewards Overview
After defeating Titan, you’ll get the Lightning Bolt Plate Armor, the Reckoning Spear, and an Abyss Artifact that spawns in the arena.
Lightning Bolt Plate Armor
The Lightning Bolt Plate Armor is one part of a set. This is the same armor Titan wears and it offers 14 Defense, Level 2 Attack Speed, and 7 Lightning Resistance. It cannot be refined nor can you install Abyss Gear Slots into it.

Reckoning Spear
The Reckoning Spear is a double-ended spear that Titan used (but smaller). This has the Lightning God’s Affliction ability. When you parry an attack, a bolt of lightning will strike whoever you parried.

Trade of the Thunder God
After defeating Titan, return to Chief Eldan to tell him what happened at Windsong Peaks. This will complete the quest Restored Balance and grant you the Trace of the Thunder God. This item is a consumable that increases your Pailune Contribution levels by 8.
