How to Complete Dimensional Bonds Challenge and Unlock Conqueror of the Abyss Achievement in Crimson Desert

Vulkk by Vulkk|

Dimensional Bonds is the final Abyss Challenge in Crimson Desert. It requires you to find and unlock all Abyss Gates at the end of all Abyss Chain Challenges and awards you with 10 Abyss Artifacts. It also unlocks the true final ending and explanation of the game’s story.

How to Access Dimensional Bonds

Dimensional Bonds is an area in the Abyss you will visit during Chapter XII: The Abyss from the main storyline of Crimson Desert. You can access and pass through it without completing the Abyss Challenge related to it in order to complete your story chapter.

Dimensional Bonds is located at the center of the map in Crimson Desert. The only way to access it is through the main storyline.

Requirements to Complete the Challenge

To complete the Dimensional Bonds Challenge, you have to restore all seven Abyss Gates leading to this area.

To access the area, you do not need to complete all Abyss Chains. You can arrive here, enjoy some hard-core parkour and unlock all seven Nexuses at the edges of the area.

There are a lot (I MEAN A LOT) of treasure chests and other loot at each of the seven sections. And most are very well hidden… in plain sight. Masterfully done by the Pearl Abyss devs, I should say!

To complete the Dimensional Bonds challenge, which will also unlock for you the Conqueror of the Abyss achievement (trophy), you must solve every Abyss Puzzle in the game and complete all Main Story quests. This excludes the four mini puzzles (Eternal Corridor) from the Marni story arc.

This will allow you to push the seven large buttons in each one of the seven sections of Dimensional Bonds. You push them like any other button of that size and type – by using Force Palm or Axiom Force.

If a button is not active and glowing in yellow when you approach it, you have not yet completed the Abyss Challenges required to unlock the Abyss Gate that activates this part of the Dimensional Bonds area.

How to unlock all 7 Abyss Gates

We have in-depth guides to all Abyss Puzzles in Crimson Desert. They are usually connected to each other, forming chains. Some chains bring you back to the ground. Others end abruptly after a Bridge on a weird platform with flying stone pillars.

Those are indeed the gates you will be able to activate once you complete the main story of Crimson Desert. You have also likely seen some of those already along with a message on your screen that you cannot do anything at the moment. The gates become active after you discover Dimensional Bonds during Chapter XII.

Here are all Gates and full Chains in the intended order that you have to complete them. You have likely already completed a lot of these puzzles:

The numbers are just so we can easily reference them. It doesn’t matter in what order you complete the challenges and solve the puzzles.

1. Crescent Skybridge Gate

The Crescent Skybridge puzzle is part of Chapter V of the main story. It is accessible through the Spire of Soaring and is part of the Triangle Ring chain that starts with Spire of Soaring in Demeniss.

At the end of Crescent Skybridge, take the left bridge gate. The right one leads to Crow’s Nest where you fought. The right one will take you to the platform with the Abyss Gate leading to the Dimensional Bonds.

Full Chain:

  1. Spire of Soaring
  2. Crescent Bridge
  3. Crow’s Nest (story boss fight)
  4. Monolith Crown

2. Twisted Thicketway Gate

After you complete the Twisted Thicketway puzzle, continue forward and take a right through the bridge. It will lead you to the Abyss Gate.

Twisted Thicketway is nothing more than a boss fight against the Abyss Kutum. To reach this area, you have to solve the Ancient Sealed Gate Puzzle at The Sages’ Peak located on the ground, between Hernand and Pailune.

This Abyss Puzzle is part of the chain that starts from Spire of the Stars. Here is the full chain of challenges:

  1. Spire of the Stars
  2. Secret Garden
  3. Vault of Vengeance
  4. Courtyard of Precision
  5. Altar of Solitude
  6. Ice Cradle
  7. Ancient Sealed Gate and Abyss Kutum Boss at Twisted Thicketway

3. Precipice of Truth Gate

The Precipice of Truth is part of a chain that starts with the Spire of Insight at the bottom of the map, where the Steel Mountains are.

Behind the spot where you get your Abyss for solving the Precipice of Truth, there is an improvised staircase you have to climb. Alternatively, fly up to the top where the teleporter is.

When you arrive, if you open the map, it will look as if you are now at Crossroads of Uncertainty. In fact, you are just passing through this linear path that has nothing to do with the other puzzle. You can jump from platform to platform or glide to jump and glide to make it quicker to the end platform where the gate is.

Here is the full chain:

  1. Spire of Insight
  2. Chaos Forest
  3. Roots of Truth
  4. Precipice of Truth

4. Crossroads of Uncertainty Gate

The Crossroads of Uncertainty challenge starts from Bowsprit Cape in Demeniss. Alternatively, you can start the chain from the Abyss Gate in the Jijeong Temple Pagoda, part of Chapter IX.

Here is the full chain:

  1. Jijeong Temple Pagoda or Bowsprit Cape
  2. Path of Serpents
  3. Crossroads of Uncertainty

5. Ether Fragment Gate

Ether Fragment is the final challenge of a chain that starts with the Spire of Clockwork in northeast Demeniss.

  1. Spire of Clockwork
  2. Riddle Square
  3. Origin of Thoughts
  4. Forgotten Altar
  5. Disconnected Truth
  6. Denn River Cube Puzzle
  7. Ether Fragment

6. Cradle of Truth Gate

The Cradle of Truth puzzle is part of a chain that starts with the Spire of the Sun in the Crimson Desert region. The Spire as well as the Nest of Valor Abyss Challenge are part of the main story in Chapter IX.

When you reach Nest of Valor’s bridges, the right path will lead you directly to the Nest of Valor Gate. The left one will take you to Throne of Truth and allow you to continue the chain to complete all other Abyss Puzzles after it:

  1. Spire of the Sun
  2. Nest of Valor
  3. Throne of Truth
  4. Dimensional Labyrinth
  5. Sanctum of Transcendence

7. Nest of Valor Gate

The Nest of Valor is accessible through the Spire of the Sun in Crimson Desert. You will be sent there during Chapter IX.

Climb up to where the two bridges start and take the right one. The left one will lead you to the Throne of Truth puzzle, which continues the chain.

Rewards

After you have finally unlocked all 7 Abyss Gates, you can open the massive doors in the center of Dimensional Bonds and watch the cool cinematic. This will complete the challenge and award you with 10 Abyss Artifacts.

If you have also completed all Abyss Challenges, listed under Challenges → Exploration → Restoration: The Abyss, you will also earn the Conqueror of the Abyss Achievement. Congratulations! This was a long journey, but it was worth it.

After you have completed all of the Abyss Challenges, you would have a ton of Abyss Gears to juggle, many Abyss Artifacts to activate skills and abilities. During the process, you will also unlock all four Elemental Attacks from the red skill tree.
