Learn how to solve the puzzle at The Grey Forest Ruins in Crimson Desert by positioning the metal grate in the correct spots to unlock the Abyss Cresset.
Grey Forest Ruins Location
You can find the Ancient Ruins place of interest in the northern part of The Grey Forest, which is located in southeastern Delesyia. The Ruins are east of the Benus bandit Camp and west of the Secret Base Pipeline PoIs. The mechanics are identical to the Halssius Conflux Ruins Puzzle.
How to solve the Grey Forest Ruins Puzzle
To solve the Grey Forest Ruins Puzzle, you will need the Stab ability. You don’t need to upgrade it. And it works with any weapon.
Initial setup
The puzzle consists of a metal grate (shaped like a giant arrow, pointing toward the center) you can turn around the center. There are three stone rings and a statue on a pedestal is sitting in the center.
To start the puzzle, grab the fallen column and move it away using Nature’s Grasp. As soon as you step onto the metal rings To the right from the initial position of the metal grate, you will see a blue shadow demonstration of how Stab works.
At first, only the outer circle will have symbols displayed on the stone tiles. As you progress the puzzle, the other two circles will also reveal their symbols.
Hints

- The light beam points to the symbol you need to position the grate over.
- Look for the repeating symbols in the second and third combinations and move the grate to the spot where they are near each other on adjacent stone rings.
Solution
Follow where the light from the central statue is pointing. You must move the metal grate on top of the symbols that the light beam is pointing to.
- Outer Stone Ring Active
Use Stab and position the metal grate on top of the pitcher in the outer stone ring.
- Outer and Middle Stone Rings Active
Move the metal grate to the right and position it on top of the coin symbols, one in the outer ring and one in the middle, with the horse symbol also fitting under the grate.
- All Three Stone Ring Active
Look for the Scales symbols on the middle and inner rings. Rotate the metal grate to the left and place it on top of them. The Horse symbol from the outer ring should be in the slot in the slot too.
Reward
When the puzzle is complete, a door in the central structure will open at its base, and you will be able to get the Abyss Artifact from the Abyss Cresset.
