The Ancient Rift Maze is one of Crimson Desert’s many puzzles that you can find in the world. Learn where to find this puzzle and how you can solve it with this guide.
Ancient Rift Maze Location
The Ancient Rift Maze is located in Pailune, with its name marked on the map even through the Fog of War if you’ve never been in the area. It’s very close to multiple other Points of interest, such as the Whitedeer Ridge Cabin.
How to solve the Puzzles at the Ancient Rift
Despite it being called a Maze, it’s closer to a series of puzzles that you need to solve and gather Keys to get the final reward. These keys are then slotted near the Northwestern side of the Rift.
Each puzzle in this series involves a set of pillars that have strange orange growth on them that you need to hit with the Focus Light portion of Blinding Flash.
Each time you do so, the pillar you hit and any adjacent to it will shift positions up or down. Each one will cycle through several set positions in one direction before resetting to its lowest or highest point to start again.
The goal is to align the pillars so that the horizontal cuts near the top of each are a single line. Once done, they will glow blue and fully lower themselves out of the way.
This will then reveal a small room with a pedestal. Using Force Palm on the Pedestal will activate the button on the front of the pedestal. This will make it rotate, revealing the Engraved Stone you need to complete the puzzle.

3-Pillar Puzzle Solution
First up is the simple 3-pillar version of the puzzle. From the starting position, we’ll only need to make a single move to solve this one.
- Focus Light on the left-most pillar.
- Flip the pedestal and claim the first Engraved Stone.
4-Pillar Puzzle Solution
Despite the extra pillar, this one is also a single-step solve from its starting position.
- Use Focus Light on the third pillar from the Left.
- Hit the pedestal with Force Palm and claim the second Engraved Stone.
6-Pillar Puzzle Solution
The final puzzle still has a quick, easy solve; at least it’s not a single-step solve. The steps to solve it are as follows:
- Focus Light on the left-most pillar twice.
- Focus Light on the right-most pillar twice.
- Force Palm the Pedestal and claim your final Engraved Stone.
Complete the Ancient Rift Maze
With all three Engraved Stones in hand, you can head to the wall in the Northwest corner of the Ancient Rift. Here, you’ll need to slot each of the three Engraved Stones in place.
Once done, the wall will begin to lower, revealing the Abyss Cresset and one of Pailune’s many Abyss Artifacts.
