Where to find the Deepfog Basin Everfrost Ruins
The Deepfog Basin Ruins puzzle can be found northwest of Calphade. This puzzle is just like the Duskwood Hill Ruins Pillar Puzzle. So much so that it has the exact same solution!
The full name of this puzzle is Deepfog Basin Everfrost Ancient Ruins. You can find it in Challenges → Ancient Ruins.

Understanding the Mechanics
With the area clear, you can now safely approach the puzzle without getting pierced by the brambles.
The leftmost pillar will glow yellow once free. To the right of the empty cresset is a hologram showing a figure stabbing a weapon into the central mechanism.
There are four slits on the central mechanism that you can stab a weapon into. Once stabbed, you can rotate the mechanism clockwise or counter-clockwise. Rotating clockwise will raise pillars, and counter-clockwise will lower them.
Which pillars are moved depends on which hole you’re stabbing. Going off the default position it starts with, let’s say the slit facing the pillars is Slit #1, and going clockwise you have Slits #2-4.
While a weapon is inserted into a slit, some pillars will get a white glow to show which slits move which pillars. The leftmost pillar is fixed in place and cannot move, so the four next to it will be A through D going from left to right.
- Slit #1: Moves Pillars A, B, and C.
- Slit #2: Moves Pillars A and D.
- Slit #3: Moves Pillars A and C.
- Slit #4: Moves Pillars B, C, and D.
How to solve the Stone Pillars Puzzle at Deepfog Basin
Your goal with this puzzle is to align pillars A through D to the same height as the leftmost glowing pillar. Once they meet its height, they will glow orange as well.
- Rotate Slit #4
Start with Slit #4 and rotate clockwise 45 degrees. Your character will stop every 22.5 degrees as you rotate the mechanism, so this will require 2 total pushes to hit 45 degrees.
- Rotate Slit #2
Go to Slit #2 (opposite side) and rotate it clockwise until Pillar D is lit while A, B, and C are aligned.
- Rotate Slit #1
Finally, use Slit #1 (to the right from your current position) and rotate it clockwise to move Pillars A, B, and C up. When they turn blue, the puzzle will be complete!
Reward
Once complete, an Abyss Artifact will appear in the Abyss Cresset. Claim it and now you have an artifact and a new fast travel point!
