Crimson Desert Update 2.02 Changes Overview

Crimson Desert Patch 2.02.00 released on September 11. It adds cross-save feature for Mac, and fixes a game crashing bug.

Update 2.02.00 Highlights

Another week, another patch for Crimson Desert. At this point nobody is surprised that the Pearl Abyss devs never seem to sleep.

Cross-save now available on Mac

The single new feature added this week is the cross-save availability for Mac. Cross-save was first introduced to Crimson Desert with Update 1.14 in the middle of July.

Now this feature spreads onto Mac as well, meaning it is now fully supported across all platforms where the game is available.

Here is a quick list of key requirements and limitations you need to be aware of:

  • One Cross-Save Slot: Only a single slot is provided per Pearl Abyss ID. All accounts you link together will share this slot.
  • No Autosave: The cross-save slot does not autosave. It acts as a manual save slot.
  • One account per Platform: You can link one account for each platform.
  • Unlinking all accounts results in losing data: If you unlink all of your linked accounts (even the last one), the Cross-Save slot will be deleted and you will lose your progress saved there. The same loss of data will occur if you delete your Pearl Abyss ID.
  • Region limitations: If Pearl Abyss ID is not allowed in a certain region of the world, you will not be able to use the Cross-Save feature.

At the time of this publication, the Cross-Save page still doesn’t show a Mac button and the FAQ on the page still says that this feature is coming later for Mac. The patch notes page on the game’s official site lists the Mac App Patch as in-progress, so this feature will likely become accessible later today.

Bugfixes

This week’s list of bugfixes is short, but includes a couple of changes you would appreciate. Apart from the fix to an issue where the game could crash during new game start with DLSS Frame Generation feature enabled.

During the quest, Descending Force Palm, from Chapter IV. Forbidden Knowledge, you should have received Alustin’s Letter. Due to a bug, you might be missing this item. When you update to 2.02.00 and log in to the game on a save that has this quest completed, you will receive the item.

This was not a game-breaking or progress-preventing bug for me. I did get the letter back in my inventory after today’s update, but this bug never prevented me from progressing on any of my saved games.

If you have noticed how sometimes shining your lantern on an NPC doesn’t reveal their belongings, this is fixed now. The problem, for me at least, was most noticeable while checking out the guests at the Wildlife Park in Demeniss for Gold Bars.

There are a few more squashed bugs that you may have encountered. Read the full patch notes below to see if an issue you were having is resolved in 2.02.00.
