How to get the Iron Eagle in Crimson Desert

Pearl Abyss added a new robot bird pet called the Iron Eagle to Crimson Desert with Update 1.05.00. Here’s how to tame it!

Iron Eagle Location

You can find the Iron Eagle perched atop a rock spire at Hawkstone Ruins in eastern Delesyia, due south Marni’s city.

I like how the pet is called an Iron Eagle, but the location description refers to the sculpture as a steel bird and the place itself is called Hawkstone Ruins.

Iron Eagle Puzzle Solution

Beneath the Iron Eagle’s tailfeathers, you’ll see some rotating gears next to a plaque.

Step beyond the edge of darkness and grasp the handle of dawn to awaken the slumbering steel. Offer the silver shards flowing through the Sotdae, and claim the Wings of SteeL

The machine to the left is a clock, and if you wait until the correct time, which is 5:00 AM, the mechanism will line up so that a hole in the middle opens up, allowing you to stick your hand in it.

There’s no need to equip the Visione or pull out your weapons. Just walk up to the gears at 5:00 AM and you’ll get a prompt that will activate the Iron Eagle, causing it to fly.

How to Tame the Iron Eagle

Once you’ve freed the Iron Eagle, it will fly in a wide circle around the ruins or sometimes over to the Sanctum of Oblation or Marni Mechworks and then come back. You can spot it pretty easily because it’s the biggest bird in the area.

Unlike with the Phoenix, do not shoot the Iron Eagle. That is considered Assault and you will break it.

You’ll need to put a Platinum Bar in your Sotdae of Bond. A single bar will raise it to 100 Trust. Stick it right in the Iron Eagle’s flight path or it won’t land.

Consider emptying out everything else first so you don’t get a flock of pigeons taking turns stealing your food.

We’ve seen reports of Mercury giving 5 Trust per piece, but you may find that Platinum is less of a hassle to get than 20 pieces of Mercury, at least by the time you make it to Deleysia naturally.
