Being forged of literal souls, the Soul Spear is one of the most unique weapons in Crimson Desert. We’ll show you how to get it and which Abyss Gears to use for the ultimate spirit weapon.

Soul Liberation (Finisher)
Fires off 5 damaging souls in a forward arc upon finishing off an enemy. This effect has a 10s cooldown.
A spear forged from souls harvested by the followers of Antumbra. Delivering a finishing blow releases the trapped spirits within, eroding the sanity of nearby enemies. Requires a brief cooldown after an attack.
The Soul Spear is an ethereal version of Antumbra’s Spear. It holds a mass of souls in the spiked circle that get released upon finishing off an enemy, but you have to wait 10 seconds for the effect to recharge.
Since this is basically just an Abyss Gear effect, Soul Liberation has one fewer Abyss Gear sockets than a normal Two-Handed Weapon, but its fully upgraded damage output is unchanged.
You can find Soul Spear in the middle of one of the chambers at the Tomb of Frozen Souls, a Hidden Place in the Everfrost mountains on the western edge of Hernand, due south of the Hoenmark Ruins where you fight Beloth.

Abyss Gears
Each of these Abyss Gears summons a ghost(s) to attack enemies, and it feels just like you’re liberating more souls from the Soul Spear.
Judgment of the Soul
Counter Stance (RB + B | R1 + ⭘ | ALT + LMB)
Commands the Forgotten General to charge forward, striking enemies in its path.
This Abyss Gear summons a blue phantom of The Forgotten General to strike nearby enemies upon being attacked during Counter Stance.
Judgment of the Soul is initially embedded in the Awakened Spirit, which you receive for defeating The Forgotten General at The General’s Tomb near Odeck in the northwestern corner of Pailune.

Spirit’s Judgment
Counter Stance (RB + B | R1 + ⭘ | ALT + LMB)
Commands a spectral knight to strike down the enemy.
This Abyss Gear summons a giant blue phantom of the Cursed Knight to strike nearby enemies upon being attacked during Counter Stance.
Spirit’s Judgment is initially embedded in the Shackle of Might, which you receive for defeating Fortain, the Cursed Knight, at Thornbriar Fortress as part of the Demeniss Bound segment of Chapter VIII: Blood Coronation.

Greysoul Howling
Turning Slash, etc. (RB + RT | R1 + R2 | LMB | RMB)
Calls forth the phantom of Goyen, unleashing a sweeping strike of shadow energy.
This Abyss Gear causes Turning Slash, Smiting Strike, or Quaking Fury to summon a grey phantom to strike the target after you land your hit.
Greysoul Howling is initially embedded in the Fated Shadow, which you can find in Goyen’s abode in the Nest of Valor, which becomes accessible during the Thinning Blade segment of Chapter IX: Sage of the Desert.

Warden of Darkness
Finisher
Commands spectral knights to decimate nearby enemies with their spears.
This Abyss Gear adds a second finisher that summons red phantoms to charge off in each cardinal direction, though it lacks the cooldown limitation that Soul Liberation has for no reason.
Warden of Darkness is embedded in the Thorn of Dark Pursuit, which you can loot from the Sanctum of Revelation on the island between Demeniss and Delesyia after defeating Antumbra’s Spear there.

This effect pairs really nicely with the golden pillars of light from the Order from Above (Finisher), but alas, there is no space to fit it on the Soul Spear.
