My short video recap
You can watch the full recording of the live stream on the official SWTOR Twitch channel here. Or keep reading below for the full notes and all important news from this event.
Group content
- Uprisings is the new group content for the launch of KOTET – fast paced action combat instanced gameplay for 1 to 4 players with various difficulty modes. Shortly after launch of KOTET (January 2017) more Uprisings will be released.
- In between the big story drops, there will be repeatable content released. Dailies?
- Main focus remains on story, repeatable content and group content will be also a major focus for the developers in 2017.
Dark vs Light event
- The event ends officially 29th Novemner, which also is Early Access for Knights of the Eternal Throne.
- Companion selection ends 15th November. Currently Light side has a big lead.
- Double XP will run until 29th November too.
Promotions
- Shae Vizla – be a subscriber on 25th October to receive her as a companion via a token.
- Rapid Recon Walker – be a subscriber on 27th November.
- Early Access to KOTET – be active subscriber form 25th October until 27th November, get access to the new 9 chapters on 29th November.
- KOTET is completely free for Subscribers, like KOTFE was.
Knights of the Eternal Throne announcement
- 5 new levels
- Start at lvl 60/65 tokens available
- New class abilities
- 2 new planets to journey through – one of them is completely new to the world of Star Wars, the other one is known in the EU, but new to SWTOR.
- Uprisings – the new solo to group content for lvl 70 characters. More info on Uprisings in the next 2 weeks (most likely via Dev blogs).
- Galactic Command – a brand new feature in SWTOR 5.0.
- Repeatable KOTFE and KOTET Chapters with 3 different difficulty levels – 2 difficulties available during leveling, the final and hardest will be only for lvl 70.
Galactic Command
- Accessible from everywhere for Subscribers at lvl 70.
- This new system aims to simplify the “what’s my next move” choice for newer players by offering them an easy access from one screen to all basic features and gameplay possibilities.
- The lack of easy to understand and manage system for gearing up and progression made Bioware sit down and create a combining UI for all possible activities and unite them under the Galactic Command.
- After selecting an activity from the main window, you are able to also select difficulty for some of the missions.
- A new Dark vs Light, totally different than the current event. It will be a part of the Galactic Command. Another Live Stream in the coming week will talk in a lot more details about how this will work.
Command Rank and Command Crates
- Represents your progress through the Galactic Command as you play anything and everything available in SWTOR.
- It tracks your progress to next rank and next reward.
- A means to show off with your high Command rank, demonstrating to others that you have done stuff (farmed stuff :P).
- Harder missions give you more points.
- Command Rank is character specific, it by all means doesn’t replace Legacy and is a completely different feature.
- There will be daily bonuses to particular activities – players that participate in them on the designated days, will receive more points for their ranks.
- Loot crates – a way for Bioware to simplify and re-structure the process of gearing up. The crates will have tiers and will contain various items (still not confirmed what and how many – being currently tested).
- The higher your rank, the better tier gear you get from the crates.
- Option to disintegrate items you do not want or need. Disintegration gives you command points, which helps you rank up faster.
- Command Crates will only be available via Galactic Command, not in Cartel Store!
Stream and Blogs Future Plans
- 20th October – Galactic Command: Dark vs Light
- 27th October Uprisings
- 3rd November Combat/Class changes
- 10th November Repeatable Chapters and Difficulty levels
- 17th November – New planets and Story insights with Charles

Q&A
- No server merges before the expansion. Bioware expects a big influx of players around the launch of KOTET. They want to see how things play out this Winter before they make a decision on an eventual merge.
- Post SWTOR Galactic Command Dev Stream Forum Q&A update
