Learn where to sell all of the Happy Mask Shop masks in The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time for the Nintendo Switch 2. We’ll show you how to unlock the Happy Mask Shop, where to find customers to sell the masks to, and show you what rewards you can earn by completing this quest.
Opening the Happy Mask Shop
To open the Happy Mask Shop, you’ll need to sneak into Hyrule Castle to meet Princess Zelda, then present Zelda’s Letter to the guard in Kakariko Village. The guard will ask you to get a mask for his son. Return to Hyrule Castle Town after this interaction and the Happy Mask Shop will be open.

Selling Masks and Spreading Happiness
This shop is unique in that you don’t buy the masks. You must wear a mask given to you, then talk to people. If you find someone who wants to buy it, you can sell it to them then return the money to get a new mask.
Any masks you have previously sold can be borrowed for free at any time. You can get some funny reactions from people depending on the mask you’re wearing.
Do note that when you return to the Happy Mask Salesman to turn in the rupees, he’ll take what the going rate for the mask is. Sometimes you may get more rupees than what it’s worth, sometimes a little less.
Keaton Mask
The first mask you’ll sell is the Keaton Mask. Bring this to the Death Mountain Trail Guard in Kakariko Village. The guard will give you 15 rupees for the 10 rupee mask.

Skull Mask
The Skull Mask can be sold to the Skull Kid in the Lost Woods. You’ll find him to the left at the first turn of the Lost Woods.
Talk to him while wearing the Skull Mask. He’ll give you 10 of the 20 rupees needed, so you’ll lose a little bit of money.

Keese will ignore you while you wear the Skull Mask!
Spooky Mask
The Spooky Mask can be sold to the kid walking around in Kakariko Village’s Graveyard. Be sure to visit this area during the day to find him, and he’ll pay 50 rupees for the 30 rupee mask.

Bunny Hood
The Bunny Hood can only be sold after collecting all 3 Spiritual Stones, right after you get the Zora’s Sapphire. After collecting all of the stones, the Running Man will appear in Hyrule Field.
He’ll purchase the Bunny Hood with a gold rupee! This special rupee is worth 200, and the Running Man will start sprinting across Hyrule Field, as happy as one can be.

If you wear the Bunny Hood in Hyrule Field at night, Stalchildren will not appear!
Rewards for completing the Mask Trading Sequence
Once you have sold the four masks, you’ll get access to the Mask of Truth. This mask lets you talk to the various Gossip Stones found throughout Hyrule. Additionally, it lets you read the minds of people you talk to.

Sometimes, knowing the truth of one’s innermost thoughts can be scary, other times it downright hilarious. Some people seem to speak their mind, and may not have any thoughts to share.

Aside from that, you’ll also unlock the Goron, Zora, and Gerudo Masks. These along with the other masks, are just used to get funny reactions from NPCs when you talk to them.

Overall, you will make 215 rupees from selling these masks. Though you won’t be able to carry them all unless you upgrade your wallet.
There are a couple of side activities you can do with these masks. If you go to the Forest Stage in the Lost Woods, you can increase your capacity for Deku Nuts and Deku Sticks!
Take the left path in the area past the Zora River shortcut in the Lost Woods to find a grotto within some shrubbery.

Wearing the Skull Mask at the Forest Stage will increase your Deku Stick capacity, while wearing the Mask of Truth will increase your Deku Nut Capacity. Though, both of these can be upgraded once more if you know where to look.
