Like so many others, Edward Kenway seeks out Blackbeard’s Treasure in Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced. This guide will show you how to navigate the dangers leading to Blackbeard’s Treasure to claim it for yourself.
How to unlock Blackbeard’s Treasure
The quest “Blackbeard’s Treasure” is unlocked about two-thirds into the main story. Blackbeard’s Treasure becomes available when you complete the quest “Do Not Go Gently…”. You’ll need to go to Anotto Bay in the Charlotte region.

Enter Anotto Bay
As you said to Anotto Bay, you’ll find a few pirate ships in the area. If you get too close to the bay’s docking area, they’ll become hostile and attack. Take out the other pirates and dock at the bay.

Climb up the docks and clear out the pirates. You’ll find a note stabbed to a wooden post stating “Take the Diving Bell we picked up and search the Water at the front of the Cave. mind the Rope. It looks half rotted. -QM”.
To the east is a diving bell floating in the water along with a lot of debris. Obviously things didn’t go well here, but it points out where you need to go next. Dive underwater near the diving bell. The jellyfish will be an indicator for the cave entrance.

The cave entrance is a sunken mine shaft. If you follow the path straight ahead, you’ll encounter a great white shark. Instead, take the first path going left with the sea urchins. Following this path will lead to a treasure chest.

Swim into the next path to the left dodge the shark that appears. You’ll find a treasure chest where the shark was. It’ll contain around 1,000 reales.

Return to your previous path and swim south to the bubble stream ahead. Swim up and face east to find the second treasure chest at Anotto Bay.

From the second chest, swim west then south. To the west you’ll see a ladder and some jellyfish. Swim up where the ladder is and keep following this path until you reach a large cave filled with pirates.
Find Blackbeard’s Treasure
There are a couple of pirates near some powder kegs. Either kill them immediately or stay back and watch the fireworks. They’ll end up detonating the powder kegs, so you’ll want to avoid getting hit by the blast.

There’s a locked treasure chest in this room. The brute near the collapsed tunnel will have the key. Unlock the chest to obtain a Weathered Map Piece and 5,120 reales.

Pick up one of the small powder kegs in the room and place it at the collapsed tunnel. Shoot the keg from a safe distance and shoot it to clear the path ahead. Follow the path and clear out the pirates in the next room.

At the end of the room with the waterfall is another blocked path. Use one of the small powder kegs nearby to blow it up to find Blackbeard’s Treasure. A cutscene will play and you’ll be outside on a platform.
The Treasure at Great Inagua
Return to the Jackdaw and travel to Great Inagua. Interact with the treasure chest to start another cutscene. The real treasure wasn’t the friends we made along the way, but a chest full of farming equipment.
Great Inagua will now have a farm on the west side of the town where the townsfolk will be harvesting sugar cane. This concludes the quest and you’ll receive Blackbeard’s Portrait as a reward.

Blackbeard’s Portrait is one of many portraits that you can collect. Blackbeard’s Portrait will hang in the hallway leading to your Treasure Hoard in the Manor. Collect them all to fill out the manor and unlock a snazzy outfit!
