Art Lover Guide: All Art Collection Locations in Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced

Siow by Siow|

There is a lot of lost art to be found for Art Lover in Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced. We’ll show you where to find all Ship Models, Art Collection pieces, and Paintings used to complete the quest and earn its rewards.

How to start the Art Lover side quest

The side quest Art Lover will begin after you’ve finished the main story quest This Old Cove. The butler of the manor, Bernard, will mention how the former lady of the manor had an art collection that has been lost over the years and he’ll pay triple their value.

Despite what he said, he’ll mostly pay you with his backstory and various gear and cosmetic rewards. This quest has three stages where you’ll meet with Bernard at the manor.

Three categories of items qualify for quest progression. These are Ship Models, Art Collection items, and Paintings.

Character Portraits and Strange Paintings from the Secret Island Vendor do not count for progress.

Ship Models

Whenever you successfully board a ship, you’ll gain a model of that ship. All of these ship models count towards progress with Art Lover. Though some of these will be rather hard to achieve such as the Legendary Ships. The more unique ones you’ll earn from various quests.

The British and Spanish have their own versions of Cutters, Schooners, Brigs, Frigates, and Man O’ Wars. You’ll need to board both of these types of vessels to get some easy progress with your properly upgraded Jackdaw.

It’s easy to forget that Cutters exist. These are found in Dry Tortuga. If you haven’t got one and you feel the Jackdaw may one shot them, use Chain Shots on the sails to incapacitate them. As for the more unique ship models, you’ll get them from:

  • Jackdaw – Granted for Main Story Progression
  • Nosso Senhor da Compreesão – Granted for Main Story Progression
  • The Revenge – Granted for Main Story Progression
  • Queen Anne’s Revenge – Granted for Main Story Progression
  • The El Dorado – Granted for Main Story Progression
  • El Impoluto – Defeat the Legendary Ship El Impoluto
  • HMS Prince – Defeat the Legendary Ship HMS Prince
  • La Dama Nega – Defeat the Legendary Ship La Dama Negra
  • Brothers in Arms – Defeat the Legendary Ships, HMS Fearless and Royal Sovereign
  • HMS Ipswich – Defeat the Legendary Ship, the HMS Ipswich, during the quest “A World Without Gold”.

Fleet Planning Art Collection Items

A large portion of Art Collection items can be acquired from Fleet Planning. To start Fleet Planning, you’ll need to first take over a Fort and claim ships for your fleet. To get Art Collection items, you’ll need to run Trading and Piracy missions with the fleet.

When you complete a Trading or Piracy mission, there is a chance that a new mission that spawns will include a third reward. This reward is either an Art Collection item or a Yellowed Map Piece.

There are 19 different Art Collection items that can be found. With 4 Brigs and 4 Schooners working non-stop, it took me 16 hours to complete. Do Fleet Planning as soon as you can and keep those missions going as you’re doing the main quest or other side activities.

Art Collection Items found in the World

The remaining Art Collection items will either be sold at the General Store, found within a chest, found as buried treasure, or through a Local Event. Do note that Buried Treasure won’t be available until you’ve acquired its corresponding Treasure Map.

Baroque Guitar

To acquire the Baroque Guitar, you’ll need to get the Treasure Map at ÃŽle à Vache (812,113) in central Navassa. This is along the island’s northeast coast.

The Treasure Map will lead you to Jiguey in west Gibara at (534,510). It’ll be within the pirate hideout between the group of four trees with the shoddy tent.

Bat-Nosed Figurine

The Bat-Nosed Figurine can be purchased at any General Store for 500 Reales. The Isthmus being referred to in this item’s description is likely the Isthmus of Panama. This is the small strip of land that connects North and South America.

Beaver Pelt

The Beaver Pelt is found in a treasure chest on the western shorts of Santanillas at (182,217).

When you reach the shore near the target area, swim under the stone arch and go west to find the treasure chest.

Bracelet

The Bracelet will be found in a chest located at Long Bay (506,223). This area will be guarded by the indigenous people.

You’ll find the chest on the upper level of the cave area leading to The Observatory. Look for the path going west where you can see sunlight, and you’ll run straight into the chest.

Bust of a Water Deity

The Bust of a Water Deity is found in an Underwater Chest at Corozal (2,241) in western Chinchorro. This is off the west coast of the small island.

Cabinet

The Cabinet is found in a Treasure Chest at Tulum (37,392). It’s found hidden away in a small crevice on the north side of the village.

Chalice

The Chalice can be found in the chest behind the Manor on Great Inagua (830,444). It’s on the east side of the garden where the waterwheel is.

Deity Figurine

The Deity Figurine is found at a Nassau local event, “Black Market Shopping”. Go to the the middle of Nassau at (599,758) and you’ll find a man to pickpocket the figurine off from.

Eagle Figurine

The Eagle Figurine can be purchased at any General Store for 1,000 Reales. Despite being called the Eagle Figurine, it’s technically two eagles being displayed.

Earth Monster Relief

The Earth Monster Relief is found in the Abaco Island Buried Treasure. The map will be on Andreas Island at (543,693).

Go to Abaco Island at (586,811) and walk to the northeast corner. The treasure will be near a group of palm trees off the starboard stern of the pirate ship.

Jar with Ritual Scene

The Jar with Ritual Scene can be purchased at any General Store for 1,750 Reales. It’s orange hue and various geometric patterns add a lot of life and color to the room.

Maize Deity

The Maize Deity is found within the New Bone Buried Treasure. Find the Treasure map at (723,607) on the northeast area of Salt Lagoon.

Go to New Bone (407,94) and you’ll find it on a little island north of the beach. It’s impossible to miss as it’s the only small island there.

Pectoral Disk

The Pectoral Disk can be purchased at any General Store for 2,100 Reales. This chest was worn by Mesoamericans, likely those with a higher social status.

Pedestal Bowl

The Pedestal Bowl is found within a chest at Cumberland Bay (544,352). It’s within the central tent at the British encampment.

Seated Zemi Figure

The Seated Zemi Figure can be purchased at any General Store for 2,400 Reales. It’s intended purpose is unknown, but some believe it was used for protection.

Standard Bearer

The Standard Bearer is found in the Príncipe Buried Treasure. The map is in southeast Port Royal at (605,132). You’ll only be able to access Príncipe when you’re near the late game of the main story.

The chest is at (113,11) on the southeast corner of Príncipe. Do note that these coordinates are unique to Príncipe and these are not for the Caribbean.

Taíno Bust

The Taíno Bust can be purchased at any General Store for 1,300 Reales. The hallucinogen likely used in conjunction with this bust was likely Cohoba. This was acquired by grinding the seeds of the cojóbana tree found in the Caribbean.

Tripod Vessel with Date Glyph

The Tripod Vessel is found in an underwater Treasure Chest off the west coast of Cayman Sound (295,308).

Triptych

The Triptych can be found in the middle of Kingston at (618,174). This area is heavily guarded by British soldiers, so take them out before looting the chest.

Turkish Copper Field Flask

The Turkish Copper Field Flask can be found at a local event, “A Moment of Freedom”, in Nassau. It’ll be very close to the docks on the beach at (593,767). Talk to the drunk old man and he’ll give it to you.

Vulture Vessel

The Vulture Vessel is found on the west side of New Bone (399,89). Go past the plantation towards the ruins. There’s a small structure on top of a small cliff that contains the chest with the vessel.

Yoke-Form Vessel

The Yoke-Form Vessel is found at a chest on a ledge in west Grand Cayman (357,298). This area is tricky to reach, but you can do so by climbing up the large watchtower nearby. Jump towards the ledge and roll right before you fall to negate fall damage (or have the Jackdaw Totem equipped).

Paintings that count for the Art Lover quest

All of the Paintings that count towards quest progression will be found in Warehouses. Each of these areas will require you to look for a key to unlock the Warehouse.

When you Focus and zoom in, look for the green dot. This will lead you to the person or location holding the Warehouse key.

An English Ship in Action with Barbary Vessels

An English Ship in Action with Barbary Vessels will be found at the New Bone Warehouse at (404,91).

Harbor Scene at Sunset

The Harbor Scene at Sunset painting will be at the Nassau Warehouse located at (593,750). This beautiful scene shows a harbor, but the artist forgot one key feature…

Map of the World

The Map of the World will be located Tortuga within Punta Guarico (848,376). This location is not to be confused with the Dry Tortuga region of the map.

Merry Company

The Merry Company painting is found at the Matanzas Warehouse at (308,617). It’s a nice painting, but I feel like it could use something more…

Nymphs By A Fountain

The Nymphs By A Fountain painting is located at the South Kingston Warehouse at (605,156).

Saint Jerome as Cardinal

The Saint Jerome as Cardinal painting will be found at the Havana Warehouse located at (205,600).

The Burning of the Royal James

You’ll get The Burning of the Royal James during the main story quest “Sugarcane and Its Yields”. This is the tutorial quest where you learn how to raid a Warehouse.

The Flight into Egypt

The Flight into Egypt painting will be found at the Black Island Warehouse located at (913,611).

Vanitas Still Life

The Vanitas Still Life painting will be found at the northern Kingston Warehouse at (609,181). This is one of my favorite paintings, but despite the name it could use a bit more life…

Rewards for completing Art Lover

The Art Lover quest has three stages at which you’ll talk to Bernard at the Manor. He’ll talk to you when you have obtained 15, 25, and 30 pieces of art.

15 out of 30 Art Collection Pieces Gathered

You’ll meet Bernard at the garden of the Manor. After the talk, he’ll give you the Le Bourgeoys Blades Pistol Sword and the Found Coin Trinket.

As of Update 1.0.4, the Found Coin Trinket is bugged and does not grant additional Reales from any source.

25 out of 30 Art Collection Pieces Gathered

When you get 25 art pieces, meet Bernard in the Manor’s Parlor Room. This is the room with the various weapon displays and display shelves. You’ll learn some surprising history of his and get The Aquila’s Wheel, Aquila Figurehead, and The Aquila’s Sails.

These are a reference to Assassin’s Creed 3. The main protagonist of Assassin’s Creed 3, Ratonhnhaké:ton (a.k.a. Connor), piloted the Assassin Brig Aquila. If you didn’t know, Connor is Edward Kenway’s grandson!

30 out of 30 Art Collection Pieces Gathered

After finding 30 pieces of art, Bernard will meet you at the Manor’s treasure hoard. After the talk, you’ll receive 4,000 Reales, the Paddy Layback Shanty, the Obsidian Hull, and the Master Assassin Outfit (likely Bernard’s former outfit).

The Obsidian Hull pairs perfectly with the Obsidian Sails gained from the Yellowed Treasure Map. If you want these sails, you’ll need to find Yellowed Map Pieces from Fleet Planning Missions.

Don’t let the end of the quest fool you. There are a total of 70 art pieces to collect. If you really want to deck out the Manor, then be sure to get all the Character Portraits and collect a lot more Swords and Pistols to fill out the display shelves.

Achievements

  • Collective Madness – Board and add Schooner, Brig, Frigate, and Man O’ War to your Fleet.
  • Dilettante – Fill all Art Collection and Equipment slots in the Great Inagua manor. These items are also found in quests, sold by vendors, or obtained when defeating a new ship for the first time.

Strange Paintings

If you visit the Secret Island Vendor, you can get three bootleg versions of paintings found from Warehouses. They’ll share the same name as three of the paintings, but they’ll have the addition of “… by [Artist Name]”.

These paintings are far superior versions as they have the addition of one or more… cats. This is what separates High Art from the other crude etchings we’ve been referring to as “paintings”. Now THIS is art!
