Greater Frostward is a Defensive Abyss Gear available to all players in Crimson Desert. It increases your Ice Resistance. It’s an upgrade to Frostward III.

Grants a variety of effects when embedded in an equipment socket. Witches found in each region have the power to embed or remove Abyss gears.
How to Obtain
You can get it as a random reward from a Witch’s Special Synthesis, which fuses one stat gear (a gear that boosts a stat) and one effect gear (a gear with a special effect) of the same tier. The result is a random Unidentified Abyss Gear, and every Fusion has a 4% chance of it being a Greater Abyss Gear.

- How to Trigger it: Greater Frostward is a passive bonus. It raises your Ice Resistance as long as the equipment it is slotted into is equipped.
- Cost Considerations: It is not tied to a skill, so it adds no extra Stamina or Spirit cost. Unlike the regular tiers, it has limited durability that wears down with use, and it may only just last through a tough boss fight.
- Related Abyss Gears: Flameward and Shockward do the same for Fire and Lightning Resistance.
- Recommended Use: Save it for the toughest ice bosses, and use Frostward III for exploring Pailune and other cold regions.
