Greater Flameward is a Defensive Abyss Gear available to all players in Crimson Desert. It increases your Fire Resistance. It’s an upgrade to Flameward III.

Grants a variety of effects when embedded in an equipment socket. Witches found in each region have the power to embed or remove Abyss gears.
How to Obtain
- You can get it as a random reward from a Witch’s Special Synthesis, which fuses one stat gear (a gear that boosts a stat) and one effect gear (a gear with a special effect) of the same tier. The result is a random Unidentified Abyss Gear, and every Fusion has a 4% chance of it being a Greater Abyss Gear.
- You can get it as a reward for completing the Special Equipment challenge Special Weapon: Flamespitter, which is unlocked by a Sealed Abyss Artifact.
Additional Info
- How to Trigger it: Greater Flameward is a passive bonus. It raises your Fire Resistance as long as the equipment it is slotted into is equipped.
- Cost Considerations: It is not tied to a skill, so it adds no extra Stamina or Spirit cost. Unlike the regular tiers, it has limited durability that wears down with use, and it may only just last through a tough boss fight.
- Related Abyss Gears: Frostward and Shockward do the same for Ice and Lightning Resistance.
- Recommended Use: Save it for the toughest fire bosses, and use Flameward III for exploring hot regions such as Delesyia.
