Greater Malicebane is an Offensive Abyss Gear available to all players in Crimson Desert. It increases the damage you deal to bosses. It’s an upgrade to Malicebane III.

Grants a variety of effects when embedded in an equipment socket. Witches found in each region have the power to embed or remove Abyss gears.
How to Obtain
- You can get it as a random reward from a Witch’s Special Synthesis, which fuses one stat gear (a gear that boosts a stat) and one effect gear (a gear with a special effect) of the same tier. The result is a random Unidentified Abyss Gear, and every Fusion has a 4% chance of it being a Greater Abyss Gear.
- You can get it as a reward for completing the Special Equipment challenge Special Weapon: Lightning Bolt Plate Armor, which is unlocked by a Sealed Abyss Artifact.
Additional Info
- How to Trigger it: Greater Malicebane is a passive bonus. It applies automatically whenever you hit a boss while the equipment it is slotted into is equipped.
- Cost Considerations: It is not tied to a skill, so it adds no extra Stamina or Spirit cost, and it does nothing against regular enemies. Unlike the regular tiers, it has limited durability that wears down with use, and it may only just last through a tough boss fight.
- Related Abyss Gears: Abyssbane, Beastbane, Bloodbane, Hexebane, Primalbane and Steelbane target specific enemy types.
- Recommended Use: Slot it right before a hard boss fight, paired with the bane that matches the boss, and swap it out afterwards to save its durability.
