Additional Info
You can first obtain the Sighting of the Golden Butterfly if you want its location to marked on your map, but you are not required to purchase this document.
The Sighting and the Butterfly itself were added with Update 2.04.00. They are part of the base game, not the paid DLC.
Catching the beetle will complete the Catch the golden rhinoceros beetle challenge from the Mysterious Animals challenges tab. The other challenges include the other two new Legendary Insects, the Hyacinth Macaw, and the Iron Eagle. It is possible the developers may add more with new patches.
The eagle and macaw were added to the game much earlier.
You can use the Kuku Insect Gatherer’s Pack, but you have to be quite close to the beetle. And it’s bright shiny gold, so it’s not going to be difficult to spot.
