Special leather strengthened through a stiffening process. As tough as plate yet still somewhat flexible, it provides high protection for armor. It’s sometimes reinforced with bone or metal. Can be purchased at the tannery or obtained by skinning giant reptiles.
How to Obtain
- You can purchase Sturdy Hide from Tannery Shops available in every major town or city in Pywel.
- You can also skin large reptiles to obtain Sturdy Hide without purchasing.
- You can receive Sturdy Hide from quests and as random reward from opening Bags.
Skin Large Reptiles
You get Sturdy Hide by hunting and skinning large reptiles. The best spot is the Monitor Lizards along the river west of Tashkalp in the Crimson Desert. Each one drops 2-3 Sturdy Hide. They’re aggressive and lunge at you, so keep your distance with a bow and dodge their attacks.

You only need Sturdy Hide for 8 and 9, and just a few per piece. Buying from the Tannery is usually enough until you reach the Crimson Desert.
The Monitor Lizards also drop Poison and Large Bone, so a hunt there is worth it even when you’re stocked up on hides.
To maximize your efforts, make sure you have a separate equipment specifically for farming materials and remember to place something like Blessing of the Beast in it. Get your hands on one of the daggers that provide an additional chance to skin extra materials:
