How to Obtain
- You can purchase Thick Hide from Tannery Shops available in every major town or city in Pywel.
- You can also skin giant mammals like rhinos and elephants (found in the desert) to obtain Thick Hide without purchasing.
- You can receive Thick Hide from quests and as random reward from opening Bags.
Skin Giant Mammals
The spot in the eastern Crimson Desert, near the Rockshade Bandit Camp, is full of several types of animals and birds. But this is a region you will venture into much later. Right around the time you might actually need large quantities of this material

Rhinos and elephants are found only in the Crimson Desert, which you reach late in the game. Until then, buy Thick Hide from the Tannery Shops.
Every kill also drops Ivory and Large Bone, so one run covers three high-tier materials.
To maximize your efforts, make sure you have a separate equipment specifically for farming materials and remember to place something like Blessing of the Beast in it. Get your hands on one of the daggers that provide an additional chance to skin extra materials:
