Location
You’ll find Torgel at Karin Quarry, north of Bluemont Manor in Hernand. Look for the large pit and the giant crane.
Requirements to Unlock
When you first reach Karin Quarry, it’s held by bandits and Torgel’s shop is closed. Count Roberts asks you to take it back during the Troubled Count questline, after you clear Cask House. Complete Stolen Quarry by defeating the bandits and Marni’s Excavatron, and the shop opens.

Valuable Items to Buy
- Fine Pickaxe Blueprint: the first pickaxe upgrade. Craft it early, since a better pickaxe gives you more ore from every node you mine.
- Diamond: one of the rarest gems in the game, found only in small amounts in mountain areas. Torgel usually has just one in stock, so grab it when you see it.
Torgel also sells Bloodstone, Scolecite Ore and Bismuth Ore. All three are harder to mine early, so buying them here can get you past an upgrade roadblock.
Mining Rewards from the Same Quest
Liberating Karin Quarry also rewards you with the Mining Knuckledrill and the Gold Vein Map, which marks 10 gold veins in your Journal under Knowledge > Adventure > Caves. Between them and Torgel’s stock, the quarry is a good place to stock up on ore.
