Epidote

Epidote is a rare material in Crimson Desert. It’s used primarily for refining jewelry at the blacksmith. Its best mining spots are in Pailune.

A greenish ore known as epidote, or pistacite. Believed to clear the eyes, it’s used as an ornamental stone, and because it blends in with the surrounding shrubs and colors, it’s difficult to gather. Most commonly found in Pailunets mountain regions and the borderlands between Delcsyia and Crimson Desert.

How to Obtain

Epidote comes from green veins in cliffs and rocky terrain, from Mineral Shops, and as a drop from certain enemies. You can also get your first batch early as a reward for the Hernand quest Count Felix’s Request.

Where to find Epidote

Hernand has a few scattered nodes, but they’re too spread out to farm. Mine them when you pass by, and save the real farming for later.

A great spot opens once you reach Pailune. The cliffs east of Pailune city, along the Upper Denn River, are packed with nodes close together, so you can mine one after another with little travel. Later in the story, the southern part of the Crimson Desert region also has plenty.

Note that Pailune is occupied by the Black Bears at the start of the game and extremely hostile region. You can still venture there and mine the exposed Epidote veins from the cliffs, but you will be often attacked by hostile NPCs while in this region.

Every vein you find is permanently marked on your map, so you can come back and farm it. Use the Environment Filter to see them all.

Secret Farming Island

There is a small island in the middle of a pool of water in northern Delesyia – Stoneback Crab Wetlands. This is a location you will visit during a side quest from the Redfox Trading Company faction quests in Delesyia for the Lake Stoneback Crab questline involving an interesting boss fight against the Queen Stoneback Crab boss.

This island is incredibly rich in several types of ore you can mine, including Iron Ore, Copper Ore, Scolecite Ore, Garnet, and Azurite. And the best part is that you can teleport to the nearby Abyss Nexus on the south side of this small island and return to farm again. The nodes respawn. There are various plants and bugs you can catch nearby as well.

Additional Info

Mineral Shops restock Epidote daily, which makes them the easiest source early on. The first one you will most likely unlock is at Karin Quarry, northeast of Hernand town, which you need to liberate first by clearing the quarry and defeating Marni’s Excavatron. The boss also drops a better mining tool, so it’s worth doing anyway.

Epidote is expensive, though. Buy only what you need early on, and switch to mining once Pailune opens up. You don’t need large quantities of it.

Use an upgraded mining tool like a Fine Pickaxe, Bernor’s Pickaxe or the Mining Knuckledrill for better yields, and slot Blessing of the Earth into your equipment to mine even more.

Once you reach Demeniss, the Hexe Earthen Swordsmen in the north, around the Sanctum of Mortification, have a chance to drop Epidote. They come in groups, so take them on when you run into them, but don’t plan your supply around it.
