The VULKK Crimson Desert Database is UP

Vulkk by Vulkk|

We have been working for months on our custom framework and structure for Database projects and the first one we are ready to show you is the Crimson Desert Database!

What is the VULKK Crimson Desert Database?

The ultimate goal and why we set out to create this Database is to offer a platform that is made by humans for humans. This is not a raw data dump.

We have worked hard to incorporate our thousands of hours worth of experience with Crimson Desert into a vast and highly curated structure that will help you better understand the game and its vast world of endless opportunities.

Structure and Content

We have eight main sections, each responsible for a key part of the game:

Items (3700+)
Classes (3)
NPCs (433)
Quests (271)

Bosses (80)
Pets (84)
Mounts (41)
Shops (226)

We follow the game’s structure of items, quests, characters and so on, but we also have further segmented and customized some categories for better clarity.

Our VULKK Database Team has over 3000 hours of in-game time with Crimson Desert at the time of this publication. I myself am currently sitting on (only) 655 hours of playtime. Endonae has clocked over 1,150 hours with Kliff, Oongka, and Damiane.

Every piece of advise, recommendation, or tip, comes from our own experience and knowledge. We have tested and researched everything you are about to read on the individual entries, on every page. Few examples:

  • Every material page shows how many you need to fully refine each gear type, plus lists of the shops that sell it and the quests that reward it.
  • Item pages show which VULKK guides feature them, and item hover-cards inside guides link back to the database.
  • Abyss Gears come with their tiers, blueprints, compatible slots and related gears all connected.
  • Hard-to-get materials have mini-guides, not just a location line or a soulless map pin.

How to Access the Database

On the main page of the Database, you will find the core structure. At the top are two search fields so you can quickly find whatever you are looking for without manual browsing, if you are in a hurry. Below that are the main sections with links to all categories, subcategories etc.

You can access the database’s main page via the drop down menu on the Crimson Desert menu. You can also access the main sections of the database from the left panel (top left icon on mobile). There is also a button on the main Crimson Desert category page.

Due to the unique structure of the DB, the Global Site Search (main menu) will not display results from our databases. Please, use the search fields on the Database’s main page to find DB entries.

How to Use It

Each section of the Database comes with its own rich and extremely flexible filters. You can fine-tune the displayed results however you wish. And you can use the Table or Cards toggle buttons.

We expect that the most popular section will be the Items one. And here is a quick breakdown of what we have there. Please note that you can use the Table of Contents in the Left Panel to quickly jump to any place on each page.

We have a detailed stats card that will give you an overview of the item, its lore, stats, effects, and a hint on where and how to obtain it, plus some other helpful data.

Leather gloves once worn by Gabriel Caliburn, Duke of the Kingdom of Demeniss. It is made from premium leather that’s both sturdy and flexible. The seams and finishing are exceptionally refined. A small buckle can be used to adjust the wearer’s hand size.

We usually have a “How to Obtain It” block that will give you actual instructions (not a pin on a map) where to find the item with manually captured images for the location(s).

Next up is a full breakdown of required crafting materials for each Refinement Level. Below that we have a few segments that may or may not appear, depending on what the item is.

We often share additional details like related items or other items that benefit the current one, and all kinds of interesting bonuses in a section called Additional Info.

Some items are accompanied by a short video clip to visually illustrate what the item can do.

If an item can be earned from quests or purchased from a vendor, we include full lists with instructions for those, with links to respective pages for the questlines and shops.

What is Next?

The next step for the Crimson Desert Database is to update it with the Charting the Unknown DLC content. Before, during and after that, we continue to update and improve existing entries from the base game.

Crimson Desert is not the typical open-world game. You can spend 250 hours and still be in Hernand. The main story is just a tutorial for the real game that opens up before you after you complete Chapter XII.

We have created hundreds of guides for the game before we had our database ready for the public. We are currently working on integrating the database into our guides seamlessly and naturally to support our existing content. And to allow you to access even more information about the topic that you are reading about.

Our next major Database projects will be SWTOR and potentially GTA VI (though we don’t know yet how the game will be structured and if it will even need a database).

As fans, active players, and supporters of SWTOR, we are currently working on creating the most complete, most user-friendly and accessible database for this game.

Feedback and Recommendations

At this time, we have no plans to open up our databases to be publicly editable (like a wiki). We need to make sure the information we present is accurate and up to date, so we test everything ourselves before adding it.

If you spot a mistake or want to suggest a change, leave a comment on the entry or email us at database@vulkk.com.
